Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Every person entering the building must show identification (a government issued ID).
Every person entering the building, no matter the length of time, must sign the Security's visitor's log.
Kindly bring our Kindergarten through 5th grade children by 8:00am via the cafeteria entrance located on Weirfiled Street, Entry door “2”.
ARRIVALS AND LINE UP PROCEDURES
Children will be allowed in the building at 7:35 a.m. via exit 2. The official school time hours are 8:10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the exception of our extended learning time program. Please bring your child/children into the cafeteria via the Weirfield Street entrance 2, for safety reasons.
ARRIVAL
For students needing to be dropped off before 7:35 parent’s must request early arrival to the Parent Coordinator and Principal through email.
School doors will be locked until 7:35 a.m.

Students grades Kindergarten through 5th are to enter through the Weirfield Street exit 2.
3K and PK via main entrance on Knickerbocker Street – Exit 1 Staircase A
Kindergarten First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade students via entrance on Weirfield Street – Exit 2 Staircase C
LATE ENTRY: AFTER 8:10 a.m. Main Entrance
DISMISSAL
Dismissal at 2:30p.m.
Students are dismissed from their assigned exits below at 2:30 p.m. daily.
3K and PK via main entrance on Knickerbocker Street – Exit 1 Staircase A
Kindergarten via entrance on Weirfield Street – Exit 2 Staircase C
First grade via entrance on Weirfield Street – Exit 3 Staircase B
Second grade via entrance in Schoolyard Weirfield Street side– Exit 4 Staircase D\
Third grade via entrance in Schoolyard Halsey Street side – Exit 5 Staircase E
Fourth grade via entrance on Halsey Street – Exit 6 Staircase F
Fifth grade via entrance on Halsey Street – Exit 7 Staircase G
At 2:35 p.m., teachers will take the remaining students inside to the first floor waiting room. Parents are to enter through the main Entrance on 763 Knickerbocker Street to pick-up their child(ren). All parents, guardians, family members, must present their government issued identification to the Safety Agent.
At 2:45 p.m., a school staff member will begin to call homes. Please keep all numbers up-to-date with the school. Please be on time to pick up children.
The students that remain in the building after 6:00 p.m. will be taken to the 83rd Precinct. The parents are to contact the Precinct; their number is (718) 574-1735.
Parents of students attending the Extended Day Program will receive a notice in early September. If your child does not receive a notice for the Extended Learning Time programs (ELT), they will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. every day. Extended Learning Time programs are offered to students in Kindergarten through 5th grades, only.
Dismissal for children who attend the EXTENDED LEARNING TIME (ELT) Programs:
5:30 p.m. – Through the Weirfield Street School Yard Exits
If no one comes for the child, by the time the principal leaves the building, usually after 6 p.m., the student will be taken to the 83rd Precinct and the parent will be contacted to pick up the child at the Precinct’s location.
EARLY PICK UP PROCEDURES
Parent / Guardian is to call the school at (718) 326-6360 extension “0” to notify the school of the time for early child retrieval.
Please use only the main entrance to enter and leave the building.
For the safety and security of our children, all visitors must bring a photo ID with them to enter the school building through the main entrance.
Once signed in, proceed to the Main Office.
Notify personnel or your child’s name, grade and class.
All visitors are to remain in the main office. Your child’s teacher will be called to send your child(ren) to the main office to leave with you.
You must sign the child out in the student sign-out book located on the counter in the main office.
Early pick up ends at 1:30pm (or 11:00 am on Parent Teacher Conference Days)
Children will not be allowed to leave with a minor or someone unknown to school personnel, whose name is not listed on the blue emergency card. If the adult is not on the emergency card, a letter with the parent’s/guardian’s signature must be sent to the school a day in advance of the student pick-up.
